Action Groups

EPCglobal Action Groups are a benefit of subscription, bringing together international users from a variety of industries to define business and technical requirements for the standards development process, and driving the adoption of the EPCglobal Network.

  • Business Action Groups (BAGs) are comprised of representatives from companies that currently use or plan to utilize EPCglobal Network technology. BAGs are organized into Working Groups focused on strategy, technical, or implementation concerns. Their aim is to establish business requirements and use cases across multiple industries to facilitate supply chain efficiency. There are currently 3 active BAGs: Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG BAG) and Healthcare & Life Sciences (HLS BAG), and Transportation and Logistics (TLS BAG).

  • The Hardware Action Group (HAG) develops specifications for key hardware components of the EPCglobal Network, including readers and tags.

  • The Software Action Group (SAG) defines the software functionality and interface standards for the EPCglobal Network and how these elements interact with distributed enterprise systems.
