EPCglobal Architecture Framework

The Architecture Review Committee (ARC) was formed to enable EPCglobal to consolidate architecture discussions to a single committee staffed by business and technology experts with broad expertise in understanding the business and technology implications of architectural decisions.

The EPCglobal Architecture Framework is a collection of interrelated standards for hardware, software, and data interfaces, together with core services that are operated by EPCglobal and its delegates. The Architecture Framework:

enumerates each of the hardware, software, and data standards and shows how they are related
defines the top level architecture of core services that are operated by EPCglobal and its delegates
explains the underlying principles that have guided the design of individual standards and core service components within the EPCglobal Architecture Framework
provides architectural guidance to end users and technology vendors seeking to implement EPCglobal standards
